Barack Obama & Hillary Clinton Will Fill The TicketYou know the names of these two people, Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton and you know that they are competing with each other and several other candidates for the opportunity to represent the Democratic Party at their National Convention next year. The one candidate who gets the most votes will then have an opportunity to run for the office of President of the United States against a yet unknown Republican. Hopefully you have been keeping up with the news reports and approval ratings for both Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton. This information should keep you posted on the latest developments, their strategies, and their opinions and viewpoints on the many different issues facing our nation today.
There are currently about eight people vying for the Democratic Party to give them an opportunity to rally the support of their party and the American people. You might even be surprised that you were just told that there are eight potential candidates. If you are the average person, you probably only know about three of them, Barack Obama, Hillary Clinton and John Edwards. Do you ever wonder why the other people are not mentioned in all of the reports given during the evening news? One of the main reasons is that it takes money, and a lot of it, before you gain the attention of the media and that is why both Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton are talked about the most. Both of them have collected over $50 million dollars in contributions to help them in their quest for the Oval Office. The other candidates have not been so fortunate when raising money or getting the attention of the voters or the media. They are usually only given a minimal amount of exposure because they are not as well known or as well funded. This might seem unfair, and in some ways it is. But this is the nature of the creature (the media) to select what information they want to give you. They are in the business of trying to get higher ratings than their competitors and they can only do that by attempting to upstage them with the latest and best news stories. And who better to follow in the media than the front-runners. Both Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton will be in the news for the next several months as they continue on with their quest to gain the support of their party. What we all hope is that their campaigns will be honest, open and that they will not resort to 'mud slinging' in an effort to make the other person look bad. This just starts a vicious cycle that goes on and on until the primary is over and one has been selected as their party's candidate. But, who are we kidding-mud slinging is what politics is all about. |
