Biography Of Hillary Clinton Is Worthwhile Reading

If you are looking for more information about some of the people who are Presidential hopefuls, you might want to read a biography of Hillary Clinton. There are several different biographies that are available (but not approved by her) that can give you an overview of the candidate.

Hillary Clinton is definitely one of the front runners in the Democratic Party and it is consider very possible that she might actually win the nomination at the Democratic National Convention next year. This would put her in the position of being the first woman nominated by a major committee to run for President. When you think about this, it is a truly remarkable accomplishment.

You already know that many other countries have had woman leaders. The United Kingdom had Margaret Thatcher, Siramavo Bandaranaike of Ceylon (now Sri Lanka) was the world's first female Prime Minister, Golda Meir was the first female Prime Minister of Israel, and India has just recently elected Pratibha Patil as their President. It seems as if the rest of the world is much further ahead when it comes to women in politics than we are in the United States.

When you look at women around the world that have lead entire countries, you wonder why there are so far ahead of us when it comes to females in government. This is a question that can be asked or even debated for years, but it can really be summed up fairly easily. Women in this country were not viewed serious until recently-we were supposed to become wives and mothers and let the men handle the country.

When you read some of the biographies of Hillary Clinton you will see that the attitudes about women have slowly changed since she was born. She is living in a wonderful age when women can actively pursue their goals and dreams without having to give up their personal lives.

Think about the future of this country and how our leaders will be defining that for us. What do want to become of our country? How do we want our leaders to lead? These are hard questions that really can not be answered accurately. There are many different people that would like to the next person to sit in the Oval Office.

One way to learn more about them is to ready their biographies-copies can be obtained free from most local libraries. These books should give you a good idea about the candidate, how they grew up and about their value system. If you have a limited amount of time to read, consider reading the biographies of the two front runners in the campaign. Chances are pretty good that one of these people will be Hillary Clinton.
