Hillary Clinton Approval Depends On Other People's ThoughtsOne of the most important ways to find out what other people think about the Presidential candidates is by watching the polls that rank them. There are many different polls being used today when it comes to finding out what the public thinks about a specific political candidate and Hillary Clinton is no exception. Her approval rating will vary depending upon the topic being discussed, who is conducting the poll, and the population being polled. This probably sounds a bit confusing and it is. Hillary Clinton's approval rating has gone way up and way down and it depends on dozens of different scenarios. Today it is still very early to be thinking about who will be elected President in 2008 but the democrats have been working hard to ensure that the public knows who they are and what their position is on different topics.
The media reports the approval ratings of all of the top candidates and if you listen carefully, you will see each of them with ratings that change. It is like a roller coaster ride, up one minute and down the next. Then, you are traveling on a level field when suddenly around another curve, there is a major downhill ride followed by another uphill ride. Comparing a candidate's approval rating does seem like this example and if you watch them carefully, they do not let the ups or the downs get to them (at least when they are being scrutinized by the media). Hillary Clinton's approval rating will change many times during the next year-there will be highs and lows, but that is just a part of the game that she plays as a figure in the public eye. She will be on her guard, working with her advisors, and attempting to keep issues and concerns in view of the public. There are many people today who are trying to ignore what is happening in the political arena because they believe that the primaries are still months away. They are waiting for the overcrowded field to be narrowed down to two or three potential candidates-then, they will start to really pay attention to what is happening. While Hillary Clinton's approval rating is important now as she battles her way through the trenches along with all of the other democratic candidates, she does realize that what is happening now will help guide her and set the platform on which she will run (if nominated by her party). Time will tell whether or not Hillary Clinton's approval rating will continue to go up and if she will get the support of her political party. While the approval ratings are important, they are not everything and she will be judged on more than just her position on topics. |
