Hillary Clinton Election Results May Not Be A Straight-forward Process

When it comes to how elections are held and how votes are counted in the United States, most of us think that it is a very straight-forward process. This is anything but accurate and everyone should know this after the contested Presidential race between George Bush and Al Gore.

If you think back about 7 years you will remember that Al Gore received the majority of the popular vote, but did not win the White House. He did not get the electoral votes that were required. Debates went on about how to change the election process and how election results are tabulated, but nothing has happened to change this and we are still using the same antiquated system today.

We are now approaching another Presidential election in 2008 and we need to think about how the election results will be tabulated and reported. You can rest assured that Hillary Clinton and the other candidates are thinking about how to win not only the popular vote but also those very important key states with their electoral votes.

Then we come into the problem of the media on election night. They start reporting almost immediately, who they project will win a specific state. This is done by them using polling results from a few precincts in a state. Their voting might only been closed for 5 minutes when the major networks start making their projections-which we now know can be very incorrect.

It is difficult to try to get people to go out and vote for a candidate. So many are complacent and believe that their one single vote will not make a difference. When you at look at some elections, they have been won by a handful of votes. When the media starts projecting who will win a particular state and then they start speculating about who has won the entire election, many people figure that it is already over and they are just wasting their time.

Hillary Clinton and her entire campaign committee know just how important every single vote is when it comes to the final election results. They are working hard to make sure that everyone knows that their vote is important and it will count in the final process.

Just how can we encourage people to vote and to know that the election results are accurate? You can volunteer to work at a voting location-the state where you live is usually looking for people to work the polls on Election Day and to ensure that everyone is eligible to vote and that the voting machine accurately records their choices.

Every candidate including Hillary Clinton wants you to go to the polls and to vote (for them, of course). At least if you vote, you know that you voted for the person that you believed to be the best for the office.
